InfoScout Detailed Features
Keep in mind that the biggest feature of InfoScout is that it shows only what’s new since the last time it ran.
1. Free form text search lets you track just what's changed since yesterday in a Notes database based on search words. This is similar to the search words that you enter in the Notes search box. You do not need to know boolean grammar to use InfoScout's free form search engine.

2. New documents InfoScout will optionally only show you new documents created after the last run date.

3. Notes Formula InfoScout allows you to enter any Notes selection formula to select records from a Notes database. Any Notes formula that works in a view can be copied and pasted into the Watch form. This helps minimize view proliferation.

4. No Details InfoScout will optionally create a blank document if no results match. This will let you know that the engine ran successfully, but that no results were returned.

5. Run History shows every time a Watch was run.

6. Format like a Notes View lets you return the results matching a named Notes view

7. Include entire Notes document places the entire Notes document inside a twisty. This is convenient for laptop users who cannot use the doclink feature of InfoScout to review an entire document.
8. Match Documents
· Match All: Ignores date and returns all matches.
· Accessed: Only returns documents Accessed after (or before) Last Run Date.
· Created: Only returns documents Created after (or before) Last Run Date.
· Modified: Only returns documents Modified after (or before) Last Run Date.
· Based on Specified Field: Only returns documents Updated where the Specified Field (below) is older (after) or newer (before) the Last Run Date.

9. Private Collection Database: Each user or designated users can specify an alternate Notes database to hold their Watch details. This is convenient for cases where users want more confidentiality or a smaller, more portable collection database.

10. Search in Boolean Form: Searches can be copied and pasted from the Notes User Interface. This causes the Query entered to be ignored. This is useful for testing queries interactively and then manually pasting them into this field.

Points to Remember
  • Watches can run as frequently as every minute, or as seldom as once a week.
  • Watches can run at any time of the day.
  • Watches can run multiple times per day.
  • Watches can be delivered directly to you immediately upon creation. This means they do not wait until a Front Page is created.
  • Maximum Matches: This will limit the number of results in the Watch result set. This is a good method to prevent Watches from returning hundreds or even thousands of results.
