Welcome to SpamSentinel Version 7.7.1.5! We have updated our core engine code to the latest release of the CommTouch and Cloudmark technologies. Further streamlining and optimization was achieved through improvements to how we manage communication interruptions without impacting server performance. We recommend that everyone upgrade to Version 7.7.1.5. It is highly recommended that customers in the following circumstances upgrade to this release: 1) those with a restrictive firewall or proxy server and 2) those whose Internet connections are subject to intermittent performance problems.
Also included is the addition of a new traditional Anti-Virus add-on called Command Antivirus by CommTouch. Acquired from Authentium in 2010, this is an award winning engine that blocks malware of all types, including worms, Trojans and spyware. Any server currently registered to use SpamSentinel with Anti-Virus option will be updated to Command Antivirus. If your registration does not include the Anti-Virus add-on and you wish to add this feature, please let us know. We will provide a quote to add Command Antivirus to your existing SpamSentinel subscription.
Version Highlights:
1) Command Antivirus has been added! This replaces Norman Data Defense Systems as our primary Anti-Virus engine. We are extremely pleased by the accuracy, performance and efficiency of this Award winning 20 year old technology. To learn more, visit http://www.commtouch.com/antivirus.
There is an additional charge associated with using Command Antivirus, unless you are registered to use Anti-Virus under your current subscription. For current Anti-Virus customers, Command Antivirus will be added at no additional charge. 2) This is now our third major release supporting x64 installations. Domino 8.5.1 and Domino 8.5.2 are supported. SpamSentinel Reporting for 64-Bit installations has been supported since Version 7.7.0.5 and is included in the full installer.
3) FREE ADD-ON! Manage-By-Example (Version 3)- This tool is highly recommended for end user satisfaction as a replacement to our Daily report. Manage-By-Example (MBE) allows the end user to fine-tune the undecided/suspect (Spam-B) mail and identifies newsletters; using a simple but effective 'drag-and-drop' technique. 4) Information and links to Manage By Example utility included at end of manual installation wizard.
5) Advanced Administrative Option: Regular Expressions are allowed by enclosing the whole expression in double square brackets in the Word Block field. For example: [[regular expression]]. Regular Expressions provide advanced searching and matching capabilities far superior to plain word lists to further improve blocking performance. This functionality has also been included in our updated Policy Management function for added power.

- Added code to remove infections from zip file attachments, leaving the zip file and any uninfected files

- Changed virus found error message back to a warning. The warning message was written to the event viewer when a virus was found. The message was changed to an error so that virus caught by Command Antivirus could be viewed in QOS
- Added code to delete file after anti-virus check, if file was not repaired. This helps prevent files from accumulating in the anti-virus scan folder when Scanner times out and the Engines have a file locked for scanning
- Changed IsNormanVirus HTTP result tag to IsAVVirus.
- Corrected EngineCount HTTP tag value.
- An error trap was added around the Command Antivirus scanning code to prevent the Engine from sending invalid XML back to the Scanner on errors.
- The license code is now added to the HTTP headers. The license code is evaluated before any XML data is read from the client. This will prevent an invalid user from maliciously posting large amounts of data to the engines.

- Correction made for improperly formatted MIME so that engines could scan for spam.
- Updated to supply additional fields to SpamSentinel Message Logging: SpamSentinelMsgType2, SpamS_Category, SpamS_AttachNames, SpamS_AttachmentsRemoved
- Updates made to the Anti-Virus and Restricted Attachment codes to prevent crashes when Domino changes attachment BlockIDs unexpectedly.
- Miscellaneous updates to 32-bit version to handle Large-Memory aware. This allows the 32-bit code to utilize memory over 2GB. x64 code had has this from the start.
- Scanner will create an AVSCAN folder if one does not exist. Added PostedDate to license expiration warning e-mail.
SpamSentinel Reporter 2.0.3.0

- Some reports, if running more than a minute, would requeue. Code has been added to ensure duplicate reports aren't triggerred.
- Updated "OpenObject" code to prevent Domino crashing.
