2) Managing Spam - We continue to recommend use of the Junk Mail folder for delivery of Undecided mail. This replaces the daily report. We have created a tool called Manage By Example or MBE. What is New in Version 7.6.2.7?
Every component of the application has been modified to improve performance and stability.

This maintenance upgrade includes administrative configuration changes, fixes to SpamSentinel components and updates to the Cloudmark and CommTouch Duo engines. In addition, the SpamSentinel architecture now greatly reduces the risk of Domino crashes that involve SMTP mail routing.

• Checks to see if new tasks files are already in download folder. If file exists locally the file is used, preventing an unnecessary download from install.maysoft.com.
• Use of local cache can be overridden by adding <UseCachedFile>NO</UseCachedFile> to the "tasks request" response XML from the Service agent.
• Service Point manager added to pool HTTP connections to maysoft.
• Removed "Expect 100 Continue" header from all POSTs to maysoft. This helps support old firewalls.
• Additional headers added to HTTP request, including Company ID.
• Update to not print check-in successful message when check-in failed.
• When user enters "tell ssmgr update", if no updates were found, show message "No new SpamSentinel updates found" .
• Additional HTTP headers added to Get Company ID function.

• Check for SpamSentinel.Zip.Dll file before attempting to unzip anti-virus downloads. If file was missing Monitor would crash.
• On Checking Machines, do not report 'dead mail' as unprocessed to maysoft QOS.
• Added error messages if missing Duo Engine registry key. Key is needed to read Norman version information XML file.
• Added Service Point manager to pool HTTP connections.
• Removed "Expect 100 Continue" header from all POSTs to maysoft. This helps support old firewalls.

• Corrected registry entries for 64-bit installs for SpamSentinel Monitor

• Added the auto-deleted stat to the Interceptor
• Added the ability to save stats by domain. As in the Scanner, you must set the StatsType field to enable stats by domain.
• Rejected message logging will copy messages rejected by the Domain Verification feature to a log database. Messages are rejected when a domain does not have a document in the Domain Verification view, or if the domain had a preference document but the ConnectionCode was set to "reject".
• The feature does not create the log database, or monitor the database size.
• New fields on server configuration document Advanced\Logging tab:
• InterceptSaveRejectedMsg - dialog list to enable or disable rejected message logging.
• RejectedMsgNsfName - full path name of rejected message log database. For example - "SpamSentinel\RejectedLog.nsf" or "Belle!!SpamSentinel\RejectedLog.nsf".
• This version of the Interceptor will examine the file attachment created and modified times. If the time-date value is invalid, the Interceptor will set the value to the current time and date. This fixes a problem on Domino 8 64 bit servers.
• Fix for attachment Modified date in 64 bit version. The Interceptor used an incorrect file attachment structure size when copying the attachment structure. This caused the resulting structure to be missing the last 4 bytes, which was part of the Modified date.
• Update to SMTP rejection message. The Interceptor will respond with an updated SMTP rejection message for spam messages, and for messages rejected based on domain.
• The rejection message returned for a spam message is - "554 Message rejected due to spam content."
• The rejection message returned for invalid domain is - "554 User not local or invalid address. Relay denied."
• This version of the interceptor corrects a problem with LZ1 compression and some file attachments that were being corrupted when sending from one Domino server to another.

• Additional checks to verify data received is valid.
• Cloudmark file version number added to maysoft check-in.

• In addition to the new features, there have been numerous changes to the base code. Several changes have been made to prepare for future updates, such as processing messages continuously rather than in batches, and connection pooling with the listeners.
• Hosted SpamSentinel Installations will automatically compose a field recipientsorig to write the original recipients of the message.

• Fixed problem where ambiguous users were routed to Quarantine C, instead of the mail-in database quarantine.
• Fixed problem where if you have Spam-D go to the Quarantine for Reporting, and have Message Handling set to 'only selected users', the Included Recipients receive Spam-D.
• Fixed problem where if you have Spam-D go to the Quarantine for Reporting, and have Message Handling set to 'only selected users', the Skip Recipients receive Spam-D.
• Inbound and outbound word blocks have separate word lists.
• Added ability to look-up domain preferences, similar to the user preferences functionality.
• X_Fields can be created from existing Notes fields by listing the names on the Domain Preferences document.
• X_Fields can be created in Formula-After by creating the "SpamS_IncludedXFields" text list field, and adding field names to the list.
• Stats can be configured to be collected by server, or by domain.
• Removed the Summary flag from the X_Field types. Same version number for now.
• Changed underscore '_' in X_Field names to dash '-'. SMTP was encoding the underscore in the name, the dash comes through as an underscore.
• Added two fields to the advanced tab of the server configuration document for the Spam-B and Spam-C white list thresholds.
• Good messages will create, or increment the hit count of a domain log.
• If a message is Spam-B or Spam-C, and the domain hit count is greater than the threshold value, the message is demoted a level. (B to A, C to B).
• The Formula After is used to make a copy of white listed messages.
• Check data returned from Engines. If Cloudmark and Commtouch reference ID are not returned, rescan message.
• Fixed issue where Spam-B is sent to a group when the 'local part' of the Internet address does not match the 'Group Name'.

• Converted additional file name functions to .Net to avoid limitations of native code.

• Checking machine (Non-Windows) processing code is identical to Windows-Domino server code.
• All components now look to the file spamsentinel.xml instead of it's predecessor, spamsentinel.ini which is now obsolete.
• Passwords are saved encrypted in this spamsentinel.xml file.
• Advanced Settings - Checking Machine check-box must be set for Scanner engine to process mail on Domino server
• SpamSentinel Monitor is SSMonitor.1.exe service
• SpamSentinel Updater is SSManager.1.exe service.
• SpamSentinel Router (SSRouter) does not exist in this version. Messages are processed in mail.box as opposed to scan.box in Windows-Domino servers.
• Auto-Delete of Spam is allowed with Advanced Setting - Restart Router at 20,000.
• Multiple servers can be checked with sscanner.2.exe but this second service is not monitored in 7.6.
