MayFlower’s Sentinel Data Integrator has proven to be a most invaluable tool converting Notes databases and keeping the data synchronized between multiple documents. It fills a gaping hole in Notes, the ability to send information when changed in one document to another. Prior to using the Data Integrator I had to run looping macros that used DbLookups to pull the information into the destination documents. Because these macros had to run over every destination document (whether there was a change in the source or not), this was so time consuming it could only be done on a weekly basis. With Sentinel’s ability to send data to documents, not only am I able to the synchronization on a much more frequent basis, but I have been able to increase the number of fields transferred five fold which makes the database more useful. | I found Sentinel very intuitive and easy to use. Setting up tasks and schedules is as simple as completing a Notes document.
As easy as Sentinel is to use, there have been times I have had to call their Technical Support. As good as the product is, their support is even better. Everyone I have spoken with has been extremely helpful. Either they have known the answer to my question immediately or if they have had to research something I generally have gotten a response within a day. Of special note is Frank Paolino. Frank knew I was doing my conversion on a weekend, called me Saturday to see how things were going and gave me his beeper number in case I had any problems (which I didn’t – Sentinel worked like a charm).
I am very impressed with both the product and the company. I will not hesitate to make use of Sentinel on other Notes applications (in fact I am in the process of planning several more uses) or to recommend MayFlower to other Notes users.
