Application Development
How often do you have an Oracle (or other back-end) database which you need to move to Notes or build a Notes-based front end for? One of the most tedious tasks in creating the new NSF is building forms which contain all the fields of the old tables. You have to type in a field label, create the field, change it's type, name it, etc.. for each of the dozens (hundreds?) of fields which need to be used in the new application. This is the step where SpeedForm becomes invaluable. Simply import one document from your old database to your new Notes database. You can accomplish this with any number of means. We recommend the Sentinel Data Integrator as the fastest and easiest tool to get the job done. Once you have a document in Notes, you can use SpeedForm to automatically generate a basic form, complete with all the fields you need. This tool can save you hours of tedious typing and debugging misspelled field names.
| Design Locked Databases
Ever try to do design and debugging work around databases which are design locked? Now it's easy. Simply copy a document out of the locked database into a new blank database. Run SpeedForm. Open the document with the new form and you can see and edit all the fields you like. |
