This form describes scheduling information for the Sentinel engine. These tasks are a way to run one or more Tasks all at once, or on a scheduled basis overnight or on the weekend.
Note: Usually scheduling is done only after each individual task has been tested. If there is a mistake, many documents may be affected.
Double check that the Sentinel Engine is running.
You do not need to have Lotus Notes running for the scheduler to work properly.
If you have not run an ODBC task at least once, the Sentinel does not know your database password. It will ask you to enter it during the scheduled run time. This may be extremely inconvenient. To avoid this problem, select "Save Connect String" on the Task form, and run that task once. This will force the ODBC driver to request your password, and build a correct ODBC string, which is saved for later use.
It is important to turn on the Scheduler in the Sentinel Engine . Additionally, select a run frequency from the Setup menu. Scheduled documents will not run if the Sentinel Engine is not loaded, with the scheduler on, and in the foreground.
Note: You must have a licensed Server Edition of Sentinel for scheduling to work. Workstation Editions and Evaluation Editions do not support scheduling.
